The inaugural ECR racing series began with the Porsche RUF series which saw a close battle raging between Gerry Boonstoppel and Scott Mullin the entire series. Both drivers dominated the series with Gerry winning the opening and closing round while Scott grabbed all the trophies in between. When the races were all added up it would be Scott that would claim the champsionship title.
